“Dream in Marrakesh” aptly described the feel of Jose Jhan Rodríguez‘s Spring/Summer 2016 show – a crescendo moment at Dominicana Moda 2015. Inspired by the culture, tradition, and glory of Morocco, Jose Jhan leveraged earthy tones and rich fabrics to produce fashion that was steeped in a Caribbean aesthetic and accentuated with deep Moroccan vibes.
This was the largest collection we have seen from Jose Jhan, with 60 looks being sent down the runway topped by a serious mix of Dominican celebrities and top models. As for the show venue, models paraded under a majestic tree – akin to Hometree from Avatar – as the fashion crowd mused. It was indeed a salute to the 10th anniversary of Dominicana Moda.
“Dream in Marrakesh” was crafted for the man whose clothing tastes equally desire comfort and style. Truly a Moroccan-cum-Dominican reverie, Jhan had us meander his dream in Marrakesh and we almost didn’t want to come back.
